Meet Your MP Martin Horwood in Cheltenham This November

Martin Horwood is the Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Cheltenham. If you need to discuss any matters with your local MP, you can arrange an appointment at his advice surgeries on Friday lunchtimes or evenings. Appointments can be booked by phoning the office on 01242 224889 or e-mailing martin@martinhorwood.net.

Martin is meeting with University of Gloucestershire students for a question and answer session, following their tour of the Houses of Parliament.
3.30pm onwards
Martin is speaking in the House on the Flood and Water Management Bill, as part of the Environment day debate on the Queen’s Speech proposals.
5.00pm
Martin is meeting with Lord Adonis, Secretary of State for Transport, to discuss Ultra-Light Rail opportunities for Gloucestershire, along with the Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce.

Martin is visiting Christ College to publicise Natural England’s free maps scheme. In a tie-up with Ordnance Survey (OS), Natural England are offering schools a resource to help teach the art of map reading. The Language of Landscape booklet for teachers will be distributed as part of the national mapping agency’s annual Free Maps for 11 Year Olds scheme. The initiative, which launched on 3 September, will provide every Year 7 pupil with an OS Explorer Map to keep.

Martin is attending the Winston’s Wish Annual Christmas Gathering at Cheltenham Ladies’ College. This event is an opportunity for families who have been supported by Winston’s Wish to come together to remember the person in their life who has died. The event is a poignant ceremony, where children and their families are able to share their thoughts and feelings and we reflect on the last year at Winston’s Wish.
