October and November events in Cheltenham include not only Halloween ghost walks and train rides, Guy Fawkes fireworks displays, but of course the world famous Cheltenham Literature Festival, Steam and Vintage Rally, Circus performance and Hommage to Gustav Holst. November run-up to Christmas starts with Cheltenham Christmas Market and culminates with the official Cheltenham Christmas Lights Switch-On on 22 November, when Father Christmas walks through the town centre and lights the Christmas lights in both the shopping arcades.
